Pastameli of New York opened in 1983 as a pasta shop on Robson St. in Vancouver. The original concept was fresh pasta and homemade sauces to take home and cook. At one time we had six pasta shops and a manufacturing plant.
In 1987 we moved our Robson St. location to the picturesque
community of Caulfeild in West Vancouver. The new location in the Caulfeild Village Mall gave us an opportunity to do a lot of things we had only dreamt of doing.
Over the years we have developed into a popular family restaurant where one can experience fine Italian food at moderate prices in a cozy and tastefully decorated dining room. We serve lunch and dinner and have a busy take out deli that features all our specialties - pizza by the slice, panini sandwiches, unique salads, pasta entrees, pizza subs, etc.
We deliver from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. nightly and until 10 P.M. Friday and Saturday nights.
The key to our success is quality and freshness. We use only the finest ingredients and take great care in the people we hire to ensure that your experience at Pastameli's is a pleasant one.
Bruce Meli owns the restaurant. Moshen Saffari is the General Manager, assisted by Nader Mackvandi.
Mama Meli, Bruce's mother, is the woman whose picture overlooks the dining room. Although she is no longer with us, her recipes and high standards of excellence provide the inspiration that is Pastameli.
